In today's Gospel reading from Luke 24, Jesus appears to some of His disciples after the resurrection. He explains to them how all of the Scriptures pointed to Him as the Messiah.
Jesus ends with, "You are witnesses of these things." His disciples had indeed witnessed the many miracles of Jesus, His passion, death and resurrection. How could they not speak of these things?
Have you witnessed the goodness of God in your life? Have you seen miracles happen? If so, how can you not speak of these things? Are you speaking of these things? We must be bold proclaimers of God's love and mercy. If we do not bear witness - through our words and our deeds - to Jesus, then we are falling short of His call on our lives.
Father, we thank you for the opportunity to witness to Jesus today and every day. Amen.
